How To Win The Lottery:5 Common Mistakes

How To Win The Lottery:5 Common Mistakes

Did you know many of the techniques that people use to select numbers can actually reduce their chance of winning the lottery?

This is a list of things not to do

#1. Picking all the lottery numbers using birthdays. If someone was born on the 18th of the month, they then pick the number 18 for the lottery. The mistake comes if all of the lottery numbers are picked using birthdays.

There are a maximum of 31 days in a month, so if you use this method to pick all your lottery numbers the highest number you would pick is 31 and the UK National Lottery has 49 numbers. Don’t forget about the other 18 numbers from 32 to 49.

#2. Picking a number series, or ordered pattern. Any series like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or like 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, multiple of 5 series like 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, picking all even numbers like 2, 6, 10, 28, 36, 44 or all odd numbers 1, 7, 15, 23, 35, 41.

If lotto numbers followed a pattern then anyone who studied the lottery would be able to win the jackpot every week. Lotto numbers do not follow any pattern but come out of the machine in a completely random order. The chances of numbers ever being drawn in any type of logical series are incredibly low.

#3. Picking “lucky” numbers. The truth is there are no lucky numbers, yet every week thousands of people continue to pick “lucky number 7″ or any other number they believe to be lucky. Some pick numbers that have been drawn recently believing that they will be drawn again soon, while others pick numbers that have not been drawn for a long time believing it’s time that they were drawn again.

How often a number has or has not been drawn in the past does not effect if or when it will be drawn again in the future.

At no time does any one number have a better chance of being drawn then any other number.

The odds of matching lottery numbers never change, they are always the same

The odds of matching the first UK lottery number 1 in 49
The odds of matching the second UK lottery number 1 in 48
The odds of matching the third UK lottery number 1 in 47
The odds of matching the fourth UK lottery number 1 in 46
The odds of matching the fifth UK lottery number 1 in 45
The odds of matching the sixth UK lottery number 1 in 44

#4. Using the numbers recommended by a lottery tipster. Many people take the same advice from the same tipster. If you use this method you could be sharing any prize with hundreds or even thousands of other people who now all have the same lotto numbers.

If a UK lotto jackpot of 3 million pounds was to be shared out between 250 people they would each only receive £12,000. this is not the life changing amount, that you would expect if you had a lottery ticket with 6 correct numbers.

#5. Buying a computer program or a book that teaches you how to select lotto numbers.

If you knew how to win the lottery, why would you need to make money by selling books or computer program to other people?

To summarize: don’t pick lotto numbers in ordered patterns, pick numbers at random, avoid being one of many who have the same numbers and run like crazy away from anyone trying to sell you the secret information on how to win the lottery.

The credulous we have with us always. You did a pretty good job.

  • What I mean is they were being christian. If your children are disobedient, stone them to death. Though I wasn’t killed, and it wasn’t stones so much as high heels, religion is an extremely dangerous tool that can be used by some to manipulate the many.

If you believe in ANYTHING, question it. This is the basis of science, take nothing for granted. You think we’d know to give hospital patients oxygen if we took this mysterious invisible wind for granted?
